Preferred Vendors

What is a preferred vendors list and why do so many companies have them?

A preferred vendor list is a list of vendors that a venue or planner have worked with and have a standing relationship with. Every type of vendor can be on this list; photographers, DJs, caterers, bands, hair and makeup, transportation, you name it!

Here are the three main reasons as a wedding planning I provided a preferred vendors list to clients and why it's a great tool for helping anyone plan a special event:

  1. Quality - I know the vendors on my list produce quality work. I would not recommend anyone that I didn't think would provide a top-notch experience to my clients.

  2. Budget - The list I provided to clients had a few different vendors in each category to fit within all types of budgets. And keep in mind that a lower or higher budget DOES NOT mean you're getting a better or worse quality of work or experience. It just means the package you're selecting is different.

  3. Personality - One vendor doesn't always fit all events. For example, if you really wanted to hype up your crowd, I'd recommend a specific DJ that I know is great at getting everyone up and dancing, but if you planned to have more mellow guests, I'd recommend someone else from the list. No single vendor is going to work well for all occasions. Sometimes personalities don't mesh and that's okay! This list is to help you find the perfect fit for your special day.

The preferred vendor list is meant to make things easier for the client. A lot of time and research goes into choosing the right vendor for your event. With a planner or venue providing a client with a preferred vendor list, it takes the stress away from the client. A planner won't recommend anyone they don't trust, so you can rest assured that selecting any vendor from this list will be a safe bet for a client.
